Everything from each chapter’s gripping opening statements to the usage of picture-painting language keeps you engaged from start to finish. I purchased MOWE via Kindle and found myself reading it on my work laptop, personal laptop, and even phone. I have an iPhone 7 and struggle with reading long texts…so this is saying a lot.

Great book! Really makes me reflect on my life being an African American man. Ismael makes you think outside of your comfort zone and I love it.

It was a great read! I couldn't put it down. Ismael is a great wordsmith. He is far beyond his years in being able to verbalize his emotional intelligence. He shares his deepest thoughts, worries and fears with the world- all in hopes for people to understand that it's okay to feel. He sets a great example for men older or younger than him.
So proud of Ismael! Well written, easy to read, great story. Can't believe that I went to high school with a person who had so many challenges in childhood. I came to know Ismael and his family towards junior year of high school - they're truly lovely people, his mother is truly a saint, so kind and loving. I love the honesty and peserverence display by Ismael. It takes alot of courage to talk about your personal struggles like that. I've always looked up to you; and I hold you in even higher esteem now. Proud to call you a friend and brother.
